Every unit is delivered clean, fully stocked, and ready to go, with scheduled servicing available for long-term hires across Brisbane and surrounding South East Queensland suburbs within 60 km of our Capalaba depot.
Built for durability. Our construction units are delivered to site and placed on a recurring maintenance schedule.

Pristine Condition
Event units are never used on construction sites — a completely separate fleet to ensure pristine presentation.
Portaloo Equipment Standards
Every portaloo in our fleet features a fresh water flush system rather than outdated chemical recirculation. Units are crane-liftable for multi-storey placement and tracked through our servicing system so you always know when your next pump-out is scheduled.
Fresh Water Flush System
Gone are the days of chemical recirculation. All our units feature hands-free foot pumps and fresh water flush tanks, significantly reducing odors and improving user experience.
Crane Liftable
Reinforced steel lifting points allow placement on multi-story slabs or difficult access areas via crane.
Rapid Response
Need an extra service? Or an emergency pump-out? Give us a call and we'll organise it for you.

Portable Toilet Hire FAQs
Common questions about our portable toilet hire service.
Can it be delivered over a 2 m fence?
Yes—delivery over a 2 m fence is possible, provided there is sufficient clearance from electrical wires and other obstacles.
Do I get a discount if I order multiple toilets?
Yes! We offer a 20% discount on any extra portaloos delivered to the same site.
Does Bunnings hire portable toilets?
Bunnings sells DIY camping and chemical toilets to buy, not a serviced hire service for building sites or events. For a site or event you need a delivered unit that's pumped out and serviced — that's what Poles and Holes provides, from $8.25/day inc. GST, family-owned since 1960.
How are builder portaloos delivered?
We use a HIAB crane truck with a 4–5 metre reach from the hardstand. We'll place the toilet as close as possible to your preferred spot, but crane reach and site conditions may restrict placement.
How many toilets do I need to hire?
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) requires one portable toilet for every 15 people on site. Separate facilities are needed for men and women. Additional amenities such as urinals, hand sanitiser stations, or site showers are recommended for larger projects.
How much does it cost to hire a portaloo in Brisbane?
Builder's portaloo hire in Brisbane starts from $8.25/day including GST, plus a $44/week service rate that covers a fortnightly pump-out, clean and restock. Final pricing depends on hire length and delivery distance from our Capalaba depot — bundle a porta loo with a power pole or site camera and we'll roll it into one delivery. Call (07) 3367 2237 for a quote.
How much notice do I need to give for a delivery?
We recommend ordering at least a day in advance for next-day delivery, though we'll do our best to accommodate urgent requests.
How often are the portaloos serviced?
Portaloos are serviced every fortnight. Weekly servicing is available at an additional cost—please contact us for details.
Is it cheaper to buy or hire a portaloo?
For most construction projects under about 12 months, hiring is cheaper and simpler — there's no upfront purchase, and servicing, storage and compliance are all built into our hire rate. Buying only pays off for permanent, long-term needs. Poles and Holes is family-owned and has hired portaloos across Brisbane since 1960 — call (07) 3367 2237 and we'll give you an honest steer based on your project length.
What is the delivery area?
For portaloo hire, our standard delivery area is within 30 km of our Capalaba depot. This includes Caboolture to Beenleigh and west to Ipswich. Orders outside this area are charged at the standard rate plus $1 per km extra travel.
What is the footprint of a portaloo?
Each portaloo requires 1200 mm x 1200 mm of space, so plan your site layout accordingly.
What is the minimum rental term?
The minimum hire period is 4 weeks.
Will the portaloo be delivered on the exact date I specify?
We always try to deliver portaloos the next day after receiving your order. Delivery may occasionally take longer due to stock availability or workload.
Can I move the portaloo after it's been delivered?
We don't recommend moving it. Once in use, the toilet becomes much heavier and difficult to reposition safely.
Do I get a discount for multiple toilets at my event?
Yes. We offer 20% off for each additional toilet delivered to the same venue.
Do I need to supply anything?
Some clients choose to add hand towels, but everything else you need is included.
Do you deliver for mid-week functions?
Yes. We deliver Monday to Friday to suit your event schedule.
How do I pay for my hire?
Event portaloo hires with Poles and Holes are paid upfront at checkout when you place your order online. We accept credit or debit card via Stripe, with all prices including 10% GST and a tax invoice emailed immediately. For repeat customers or multi-unit commercial event orders, we can also invoice via Xero with 14-day payment terms. There's no deposit — the upfront payment covers the full event hire so there's nothing more to pay on the day.
How do you deliver the portaloos?
We deliver using a crane truck with a 4–5 metre reach from the hardstand. We'll always try to place the toilet where you'd like, but crane reach can sometimes limit exact placement.
How many toilets do I need for my event?
A good rule of thumb is 1 toilet per 50 guests. Larger events or venues with limited facilities may require more.
How much space do I need for a portaloo?
Each portaloo requires a footprint of 1200mm x 1200mm, plus clearance for safe crane delivery.
What do I get with my hire?
Each event portaloo is fresh, clean, and ready to use. It comes with a light, hand soap, and a mirror as standard.
What is your standard delivery area?
Our standard delivery area is within 30km of our Capalaba depot. For orders outside this range, we charge our standard rate plus $1 per km for additional travel.
When will my toilet be delivered and collected for a weekend event?
For Saturday events, delivery is usually on Friday and collection is on Monday.
Can I hire it for longer than 4 days?
Absolutely. Beyond the initial 4 days, it's just $60 per extra day.
Can you beat other quotes?
Yes! We'll beat any Brisbane event portaloo quote by 10%, and any other genuine written quote — power poles and security cameras — by 5%. Send us the competitor's quote before you confirm with them and we'll beat it on a like-for-like hire.
Do I need to handle cleaning or servicing?
Not for the short-term hire. The trailer unit is delivered ready to use and returned by you to the depot. For longer-term or high-usage needs, you may want to contact us about servicing options.
How do I collect and return the trailer-mounted toilet?
You simply pick it up from and return it to our Capalaba depot—that's all there is to it.
How many guests does a trailer-mounted portaloo serve?
A single trailer-mounted portaloo from Poles and Holes comfortably serves around 50 guests for a 4-to-6-hour event. For larger events, use the same rule of thumb as our standard event portaloos — one toilet per 50 guests. Events longer than six hours, or those serving alcohol, benefit from an extra unit. The trailer-mounted unit is popular for weddings, private parties, and small events up to around 75 guests where you want a premium setup without needing multiple portaloos.
Is the trailer unit well-equipped?
Yes—each unit comes with top-of-the-line features including lighting, soap dispensing, and foot-operated flushing and hand-washing systems, ensuring a clean and modern experience for your guests.
What does trailer-mounted toilet hire include?
For just $180, the hire covers 4 days and includes pickup and return by you from our Capalaba depot. Each trailer toilet is equipped with GECA-approved toilet paper, internal lighting, soap dispensers, and foot pumps for flushing and hand-washing.
What is the recommended usage period?
The base hire includes 4 days. For events that last longer, additional days are $60 each.
Whether it is cheaper to buy or hire a portaloo comes down to how long you need it and who is going to empty it. Hiring wins for anything measured in weeks or months. Buying starts to win on long-term static sites and for off-grid use, where you can live with doing the servicing yourself.
