Commonly Asked Questions

What is our standard delivery area?
Our depot is in Capalaba. For Temporary Power Poles we deliver as far north as Caboolture, south to Beenleigh and west to Ipswich. However we do deliver Poles on the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and West of Ipswich for an additional fee for delivery. For Event Portaloo hire the standard area is within 30km of our Capalaba depot, from Caboolture south to Beenleigh and west to Ipswich.
How long does the connection process take for temporary power?
Poles & Holes will submit an EWR (Electrical Work Request) via the Energex Web Portal on the day the pole is installed.

It normally takes two weeks to connect power after pole is installed, but other factors can affect Energex's timeline such as weather/traffic control requirements/tree trimming/site access & difficulties etc.
What else is needed when installing a temporary power pole on a busy road?
Any connection required on a block of land that touches a roadway highlighted in yellow in the UBD Street Directory must, by law, be scoped for traffic control. If Energex deems traffic control is required, then this can add roughly 6 weeks to the job due to council permit timelines.
Does traffic control cost extra when installing a temporary power pole?
No. Energex pays all additional costs when installing the power pole.
How do you deliver the portaloo?
We deliver our portaloos using a crane truck with a 4 to 5 metre reach from the hardstand. We'll try to deliver the toilet exactly where you want it, but please note, due to the limited extent of the crane reach, toilet placement can sometimes be restricted.
How much space is needed for a portaloo?
Our portaloos have a footprint of 1200 x 1200mm.
When do you deliver if the party is on a Saturday?
We deliver on a Friday and pickup on a Monday. There is also a 20% discount if you order multiple toilets for the same venue.
